Demetrius Guidry

I started Milton Outreach Ministries (MOM) because I saw a need for additional support for children facing difficult circumstances. As an educator and football coach, I realized that some students required more than just support in the school setting and on the football field. That's why I became a Licensed Foster Parent - to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in need.
During my training as a foster parent, I learned about the underlying causes of maladaptive behaviors and the suffering that individuals from this population endure. I recognized the importance of trauma-focused training beyond the basic introductory course, so I invested in further training to better understand and support these children and their families.

This journey also opened my eyes to the fact that successful reunification requires support for the whole family. I realized that in order to sustain a successful reunification, the biological parents, foster parents, and kinship caregivers also needed therapeutic services and parenting training.
Additionally, my training exposed me to two other vulnerable populations - victims of sex trafficking and domestic abuse. I saw the need for trauma-focused care and support for these individuals as well. This realization led to the birth of MOM - a nonprofit organization that aims to meet the needs of children, adults, and families from hard places.

At MOM, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including counseling, family therapy, parenting training, and support for victims of sex trafficking and domestic abuse. Our goal is to help individuals process trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and manage their symptoms and deficits.
